TWO WEEK SHORT-TERM MISSION
Camp Date: 07/03 –  07/17 2015

American Life, July 2015

Date:           Monday P.M. July 6 – Friday A.M. July 10

We have decided to extend the camp by one more day to further develop relationships with the students.   At the end of each camp, all students are given a survey.  For the past few years we have found that the students want to stay longer.  This is due to the time taken to overcome speaking English fears by students.

Audience:   During the year, from September through Chinese New Year, we will be reaching out to NUTC College using English created relationship with students.  It will be through this ministry we will recruit 50 students to participate in this five-day camp.  These 50 students will be divided into (10) families.  We will seed each family with 1 Taiwanese resident teacher and two visiting American participants and family if applicable.

American:   Requirements for the American TEAM will be 2 individuals and kids.  They will be divided into family groups consisting of two individuals.  They will live in with the students.  The first meal will be at an area shopping center.  Each household will shop for Tuesday (Lunch, Dinner), Wednesday (Lunch, Dinner) and Thursday (Lunch) meals.  A barbeque will be provided for all on Thursday night.  All breakfast meals will be provided by the Housing complex.  Each household will be in charge of cooking and cleaning their own cooking and dinning ware.

Survival ESL Camp, July 2015

Date:           Monday A.M. July 13 – Thursday A.M. July 16

Location:    This Camp will be a four day ESL Survival camp with different students.  This camp will be a NUTC College campus based camp.  Those visitors in this camp will more than likely live in the teacher hostel by campus or Hotel rooms near campus.

Audience:   During the year, from September through Chinese New Year, we will be reaching out to Taichung city center college students using ESL outreaches to create relationships.  It will be through these relationships, we will recruit up to 30 students who have never had much opportunity to speak English to participate in any of the camps.   These students will be divided into 4 groups.   The ESL camp will consist of Class/small groups.  It will be held on campus.  Outside activities are spontaneous and consist of students taking foreigners to shop, night market, museums, etc.  Language topics will be based on Everyday Conversations.

American:   Requirements for the American TEAM will be a desire to speak English.  Number to be determined

1 MONTH MISSION-PLANNING CAMPS 
Trip Date: 06/15 –  07/17 2013

In addition to attending the above camps, come a little eariler and help us prepare.  We have a comfortable place to live, our home.  You will have your own space and have access to wireless and cable-tv.  Sounds like a vaction right!

Of course, we will include you in our outreaches and give you opportunities to recruit students for the camps.  You may we wondering if you can do it, well if you can speak English you can.

Other opportunities are leading Bible studies, small group participation, and seeing the great island of Taiwan.
